Introduction to Water Based Medicine
Unhealthy drinking water affects children in different ways than it does adults. There is cause for special concern for the health of children who drink tap water. [1]- Natural Resources Defense Council
Water is something most of us take for granted until we step on a plane and head out into the world. Then we suddenly realize that this precious liquid, so necessary to sustain life, can also cause serious ill health and even worse.
Nothing ruins a good trip like a bout of diarrhea, nausea, feeling totally exhausted, feverish and in no mood for anything but bed! Water borne illness is one of the leading sources of health problems for travelers, and can have serious immediate consequences and after-effects for months. And nothing ruins a good life in the long run more than drinking water polluted with fluoride, chlorine and a host of other chemicals.
That’s just the start of the many issues related to water. When we drink the wrong kinds of water we often get sick with acute symptoms but what is more insidious is when water weak in magnesium leads to long standing deficiencies in this vital mineral. Demineralized water will contribute to sudden death from heart disease and eventually lead to cancer or the misery of a stroke.
Water is a “whole food” that nourishes our bodies like no other food can. It flushes toxins from the body and supplies many needed minerals and impacts the body in many subtle ways. Like other whole foods, when it is tampered with it loses some of its most precious properties.
We are Water
Professor Gerald Pollack, Founding Editor-in-Chief of the scientific journal, WATER tells us that, “Water covers much of the earth. It pervades the skies. It fills your cells — to a greater extent than you might be aware. Your cells are two thirds water by volume; however, the water molecule is so small that if you were to count every single molecule in your body, 99% of them would be water molecules. That many water molecules are needed to make up the two-thirds volume. Your feet tote around a huge sack of mostly water molecules.”
Dr. Pollack continued, “Water is central to life — so central that Albert Szent-Györgyi, the father of modern biochemistry, once opined: “Life is water dancing to the tune of solids.” Without that dance, there could be no life.”
It’s well known that poor quality water can give you diseases or even kill you, on the flip side good quality living water has many amazing benefits for our health. Water is absolutely central to human health. Everyone knows that water is the source of life on earth. The water we want to drink must have characteristics that go beyond simple purification.
The ideal water is high in pH and specifically highly alkaline because it is rich in magnesium and other minerals like bicarbonate. The ideal water is properly structured, making it easy to fully hydrate oneself—which is more difficult than most of us believe. One would think all water hydrates equally but this is not the case. Low quality acid demineralized water leads to dehydration as well as disease.
The water I recommend hydrates re-mineralizes and drives up oxygen levels as well as carbon dioxide, pH and cellular voltage. Drinking enough highly alkaline water will decrease a person’s risk of cancer and every other disease and or help them recover if they are already sick. Notice I am not saying high pH water I am specifically using the concept of natural alkalinity.
Many people think dehydration is something that happens to travelers in the desert when they run out of water. But there is a chronic form of dehydration that goes unnoticed. It is widespread and affects everyone who is not drinking enough of the right liquids. One cannot hydrate with Coke or Pepsi; in fact these sugary drinks contribute to chronic dehydration and inflammation.
In this book you will read a lot about the importance of hydration. We often mistake thirst for hunger,[2] or if we feel thirsty, we think drinking a Coke will quench our thirst, when the reverse happens—sodas actually cause dehydration and increase our need for water just to neutralize the acid in them.
Special Note: Everything I am going to say in this book is going to take on new significance, not only because of the looming shortages of water but in the United States, for example, because President Obama ‘Approves Raising Permissible Levels of Nuclear Radiation in Drinking Water. Civilian Cancer Deaths Expected to Skyrocket.’
Nuclear specialist Dr. Helen Caldicott published in April of 2013 that, “The White House has given final approval for dramatically raising permissible radioactive levels in drinking water and soil following “radiological incidents,” such as nuclear power-plant accidents and dirty bombs. The final version, slated for Federal Register publication as soon as today, is a win for the nuclear industry which seeks what its proponents call a “new normal” for radiation exposure among the U.S population, according Public Employees for Environmental Responsibility (PEER).”
“Issued by the Environmental Protection Agency, the radiation guides (called Protective Action Guides or PAGs) allow cleanup many times more lax than anything EPA has ever before accepted. These guides govern evacuations, shelter-in-place orders, food restrictions and other actions following a wide range of “radiological emergencies.” The Obama administration blocked a version of these PAGs from going into effect during its first days in office. The version given approval late last Friday is substantially similar to those proposed under Bush but duck some of the most controversial aspects: In soil, the PAGs allow long-term public exposure to radiation in amounts as high as 2,000 millirems. This would, in effect, increase a longstanding 1 in 10,000 person cancer rate to a rate of 1 in 23 persons exposed over a 30-year period,” concludes Dr. Caldicott.
This is an early warning that should give a good picture of the situation we and our families are facing already but one that will worsen in the years directly in front of us. In a world where even our water is going to be increasingly polluted with radiation to survive happily and with health we need new skills and understandings about the basic principle of water and how to best use water to bring about coherence to our biological existence.
This book (due out early May) is dedicated to F. Batmanghelidj, MD the world’s first true water doctor. Dr. Batmanghelidj was trained at St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School of London University and was one of the last students of Sir Alexander Flemming, who discovered penicillin. He discovered that the simplest and one of the most abundant substances in the world was one of the best pain medications, effective for asthma and is the best anti-histamine medication there is.
"When Dr. Batmanghelidj thinks of a glass of water, he doesn't think of it as half full or half empty. He thinks of it as brimming over with the essential fluid of life. He thinks of it as the solvent of our ills and the deliverer of ripe old age. He thinks of it as the wave of the future."
- The Washington Times
Naturally perfect water right from the tap is a fantasy. Though I acknowledge Dr. Batmanghelidj great contribution to the field of water medicine he had little to say about the quality of the water we drink, though he does state: “Our health is truly dependent on the quality and quantity of the water we drink.” Drinking enough water for full hydration is the basis of good health but that good effect is nullified if that water is polluted and acidic and treated with chlorine and fluoride.
This book introduces a new water processing system that not only puts out high alkaline water at low cost, without using electricity, but also high magnesium water that normally costs an arm and a leg from bottled water companies. Very few of the hundreds of bottled water sold in the world have high magnesium content. I have no fondness for filling up the world with plastic bottles so am glad to be coming out with a water process that adds magnesium and bicarbonate making it possible to drink the finest quality water made right in the home. |
