8 Diseases Healing by Using St. John`s Wort

This herb, which from July to September is growing on grassy lawns  on the edges of forests, the hills and meadows for the people is known as a lady’s flower. According to this common name it is seen how big is its importance as a medicinal herb.
The plant is 15 to 60 cm high. The stem is solid and extensive, and the ornate flowers are golden yellow. To certainly recognize the St. John’s wort, mash a fully bloomed flower: from it will flow a red juice. We can also fight against the  trigeminal neuralgia if we drink two to three cups of the tea during the day and for a long time massage the affected area with oil of this herb. As “arnica nerves” means one tincture of St. John’s wort, which themselves can create and successfully use with nerve problems, inflammation of nerves, neurosis, insomnia, and weakness of nerves. It is externally used as a tincture, for rubbing, or is drunk 10 to 15 drops per day with a large spoon of water.
St. John’s wort also heals voice disorders, restless sleep, attacks of hysteria and sleepwalking, as well as bed – wetting and depression. Many experiences have shown that in all these diseases by the usage of the tea of this herb can also efficiently help some baths from the same herb (see usages). It is recommended six consecutive weekly feet baths at  nerve disorders of any origin.



Young girls at the ages of their development during a certain period should drink two cups of St. John’s wort tea  because it encourages the  development of the female organs and regulates the irregular menstrual cycle.



The oil from this herb is very lauded natural remedy. Every home should have it. It retains its healing effect for two years after the making and is successfully used not only in open wounds, fresh injuries, bleeding, swollen glands and as a  mean for care of rough skin but is also effective as a mean of rubbing of back pain, followed by ischemia, sciatica and rheumatism. At home always to have on hand the right home remedy for a variety of burns, make oil from this herb in a way that the flowers of this herb will be put in linseed oil. It can be used against sunburn when sunbathing.




It is useful for a swollen lymph glands in the abdomen. When the stomach has been rubbed more times with a St. John’s wort oil then after a short time everything passes.
Way of Usage of the St. John`s Wort
Tea preparation: one full teaspoon is poured with a quart of water and left for a short time.
Oil of St. John’s wort: a small bottle is filled to the neck of  flowers picked by the sun, which are dipped in high quality olive oil. It must cover the flowers. The bottle is closed well and left for a few weeks  in direct sunlight or near heat sources. After a while the oil turns red. Strained through a gauze, the remains are squeezed and the bottles are disposed  in a dark place. – For usage on burns instead of olive can be used linseed oil.
Tincture of St. John’s wort: in one liter of brandy we put two handfuls of sunlight harvested flowers and the bottle is left for three weeks in the sun or in a warm place.
Sitting Bath: bucket of St. John’s wort (floral handles, leaves and flowers) during the night is left in a cold water. Before bathing everything is heated to boiling and water is added. It takes 20 minutes (see the general section, section Sitting bath).
