Turmeric has been getting a lot of attention lately. This super spice contains curcumin, a substance with powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Turmeric may be the most effective nutritional supplement in existence.
But recent reports now show that excessive levels of lead have been confirmed by routine sampling in several popular brands.

2 Recalls Issued
At the end of July 2016, Get Spice Inc, recalled some of their ground turmeric due to excessive amounts of lead. Now the company has confirmed that 6 more brands have been affected.
Get Spice Inc, based in Bayonne, New Jersey, issued a recall on July 28 when it discovered large amounts of lead in it’s Fresh Finds brand of Turmeric. On August 5th, just 8 days later, a 2nd FDA recall notice was issued to inform consumers that 6 additional brands are also affected. Each brand was produced from the same bulk turmeric.
