India Nuke Command
In Secret Meeting
12-25-8
NEW DELHI -- Pakistan media has derided their government for ineffective diplomatic initiatives. In contrast, India's diplomatic 'offensive' is seen as a move to muster world support and to manage the impact in the event of an India-Pakistan war.
''For every Mukherjee scud, there are a dozen Pakistani duds," writes political economist Mosharraf Zaidi in 'The News' on Wednesday, referring to Pranab Mukherjee's meeting over 100 Indian ambassadors summoned from around the world to brief them on the subcontinent situation. Its editorial, too, sees the meet as an important strategic tool. "The pressure on Pakistan continues to mount," it says.
