The chemical replacing BPA is just as bad

The chemical replacing BPA is just as bad

Cutting through the BS over BPA and BPS
Think you’ve dodged a bullet now that you’ve learned to avoid BPA? Think again!
In one of the biggest manufacturing scandals you haven’t heard of yet, this hormone-like chemical is being replaced by something that’s every bit as bad.
And in some ways, it’s even worse.
The “new” chemical is called BPS, and it shares a lot more with BPA than just the first two letters.
In fact, they’re almost identical. They both mimic estrogen inside the human body and disrupt the endocrine system, putting you at risk for any number of diseases and other health problems.
And while BPS is a little weaker, a new study finds it’s 19 times more effective at penetrating the skin than BPA.
That means you could actually get an even BIGGER dose of chemical hormones by switching to BPA-free products!
It’s an outrage, but what makes this so much worse is that this stuff is already out there, and probably in your home and even in your body right now.
In the new study, for example, researchers tested 16 types of paper gathered from the United States, Japan, South Korea, and Vietnam and found BPS in just about every single thermal receipt — which means if you handle receipts for a living or simply spend a lot of time shopping or using ATMs, you’re already getting that BPS hormone boost.
The study in the journal Environmental Science & Technology also found BPS on 87 percent of paper money samples and 52 percent of all recycled paper products — and it was found in levels nearly identical to what had been previously found with BPA.
It’s like they merely swapped one bad chemical for the other and hoped no one would notice.
Well, I’VE noticed. And now you’ve noticed, too.
Let’s put the crooks who make this stuff on notice next — because paper isn’t the only place you’ll find BPS. In fact, the smallest and most vulnerable members of your family could be getting a big-time hormone boost from “BPA-free” products at this very moment.
