The
girls were admitted to the Civil Hospital here immediately after their
condition deteriorated. About 14 children of class V of this school
were given tetanus doses.
Of these 14 children, seven girls suddenly became ill and had to be rushed to the hospital, sources said.
The girls were discharged from the hospital after their condition
became better. But again six girls complained of feeling unwell and
they had to be admitted to the emergency at the hospital in Nabha.
Family
members of the girls stated that their daughters suddenly started
feeling unwell and this was due to the tetanus injection that they were
administered at their school.
Following this incident, director of the State Immunization office,
along with his team from Chandigarh, reached the spot and the team
inspected Civil Hospital at Nabha from where the vaccination were sent.
The team comprised Dr G.B. Singh, Dr Harish Malhotra, district health
officer, Dr Bhupinder Singh, SMO of Bhadso Hospital. They also inspected
the place where these injections are stored at the hospital.
Dr G.B. Singh stated that the girls are not reflecting any reaction
caused by the vaccination given to them at school. But samples of the
vaccination have been taken and they have been sent to a laboratory
meant for testing vaccination samples at Kasauli. The report is awaited.
The education department at Bhadso also enquired about the condition of
the girls who are admitted to the hospital. District education officer
(primary) Harinder Kaur, school centre in-charge Alhora Satwant Kaur,
black Bhadso BPO Balkar also enquired about the students.
