How to lessen the trauma of even minor surgery
Undergoing a surgical operation, even minor surgery, can be a traumatic experience for your body. Of course, you’ll want to make your recovery as quickly as possible. Incorporating the following five recommendations will help both shorten your hospital stay and get back on your feet sooner.
1. Bank Your Blood
What you may not realize is that some of the most important steps you can take to recovery from surgery happen before you even reach the hospital doors. One of these is being sure to bank your own blood if you’re planning on undergoing surgery that may require transfusions. I’ve been recommending this process (called autologous transfusion) as a pre-surgery precaution for nearly 25 years, and it still is good advice.
Thankfully, due to modern donor blood test screening protocols established after the emergence of HIV in the 80s, now you’re more likely to be transfused with wrong blood type than you are to contract HIV/AIDS or hepatitis from donor blood. However, donor blood still contains other various pathogens, because at any given time the body is fighting some form of infection. For some people it could be simply from a cut on the finger, gum disease, a cold, a chronic sinus problem, et cetera. But in other people the pathogen might be more virulent.
Research shows that the risk of developing any kind of infection is three times greater in any patient who receives a blood transfusion when compared to a similar patient who doesn’t. And the more blood one receives, the higher the risk of infection.
In many cases, however—hip replacement, bypass procedures, and the like—you have time to donate and bank your own blood prior to the surgery. In a University of Michigan study, individuals who didn’t receive transfusions, and those who banked their own blood before surgery, had the lowest risk of infections and, subsequently, a lower risk of dying during the 100 days after surgery.
Remember that it may take anywhere from four to eight weeks to accumulate enough blood for many surgeries, so plan ahead when possible. When you donate blood they take a unit, and you can donate once every eight weeks. Your body will replace the plasma (the fluid portion) in a couple days, but it takes the two months for your body to replenish the blood cells contained in a pint. If you bank your own blood before surgery, be sure to allow enough time between your last blood draw and the date of your surgery.
2. Supplement Program
In addition to your normal multivitamin-mineral supplement regimen, you also need to make sure you are taking certain vitamins at least a couple of weeks before and two to three months after surgery. Research studies have shown that taking as little as 250 mg a day of vitamin C after surgery cut the healing time in half.
I recommend you start taking the following supplements at least two weeks prior to the surgery: additional vitamin C (1,000 mg to 2,500 mg), bioflavanoids (1000 mg), zinc (50 mg), vitamin E in the form of wheat germ oil capsules (50 mg), and a good B-complex (that contains at least 50 mg of pantothenic acid). Also remember that zinc can become toxic if not taken with vitamin A as well as vitamin C, so it would be best to include from 20,000 to 25,000 IU of vitamin A daily.
Wheat germ oil can also help in the healing of any scars left immediately after surgery when applied directly to the scar area. (Simply puncture the wheat germ oil capsule and squeeze onto the area.)
3. Probiotics and Fiber
If you haven’t already, you should add a probiotic and fiber to your diet during the weeks preceding and months following your surgery. According to one study, patients who ate fiber and probiotics after undergoing a major abdominal surgery or liver transplant had substantially fewer incidences of post-surgical infection than patients given conventional nutrition or placebo. For example, of the 95 patients in the study who received liver transplants, 48 percent of those on conventional nutrition and 34 percent of those receiving the placebo developed infections. Only 13 percent of those receiving the probiotic and additional fiber developed infections.
Based on the results above, I personally think it should be considered malpractice for surgeons not to place all of their patients on probiotics and additional fiber. The difference in infection rates is phenomenal! This simple therapy can reduce suffering, lower death rates, decrease antibiotic use, and shorten the duration of hospital stays, dramatically reducing medical expenditures in this country.
Most people are aware of the immune system-boosting benefits of probiotics or “good bacteria.” But not as many people realize that for probiotics and beneficial bacteria to work and proliferate, they need their own “food,” also known as “prebiotics.” Fiber serves this purpose. Indigestible fiber not only helps bowel motility, but it also serves as base media for the necessary probiotic fermentation process that happens in the bowels. The vitamins and nutrients produced by this process feed the good gut bacteria and prevent infections, which would otherwise start in the area. Increasing the fiber in your diet with raw and cooked fruits and vegetables will make any probiotic work more effectively.
4. Bromelain
A couple of days before and after surgery it would be wise to include at least 1,000 mg twice daily of bromelain (the pineapple extract). It should be taken between meals with a full glass of water. Bromelain is a powerful proteolytic enzyme (meaning it breaks down proteins). In addition to its uses as a digestive aid, its excellent anti-inflammatory effects reduce swelling and bruising, speeding healing and recovery time. Even pineapple in its raw form has show to be effective when applied topically to wounds. Bromelain tablets can be purchased at most health food stores.
5. Sunshine
After your surgery, try to get a bed next to a window that lets in the most sunlight.
Although the public has practically been brainwashed into believing we would be healthier without sunlight exposure, nothing could be further from the truth. Moderate exposure to sunlight is essential to optimal health, and research shows that exposure to sunlight after surgery can help make the recovery process less painful.
In the study, researchers observed the effects of sunlight exposure on the amount of pain medication needed by 89 patients who had recently undergone spinal surgery. Medication use was compared to intensity of sunlight in each of the patients’ rooms. Patients staying on the bright side of the hospital unit were exposed to 46 percent higher intensity sunlight. These patients experienced less perceived stress and less pain, and took 22 percent less pain medication per hour than those on the dim side of the hospital. As a result, their cost of pain medication was 21 percent lower.
I see no reason why one wouldn’t experience similar results while recuperating from an illness in a home setting. During your convalescence at home, try to get 15–20 minutes of sun a day either by sitting outside or at least by a sunny window.
Even though surgery and the subsequent healing process are often frightening and painful, following these five steps will go a long way toward helping you make a quick and full recovery.

How Julia healed her breast cancer naturally in 2000!

How Julia healed her breast cancer naturally in 2000!

How Julia healed her breast cancer naturally in 2000!Four years ago, a friend of a friend was diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer. She suffered through many rounds of brutal surgeries, chemo and radiation treatments. She had some brief periods of remission, but the cancer always came back. Her toughness, positive attitude, and love for Jesus was an inspiration.
In 2012, after two years of chemo, then brain surgery, brain radiation, gamma knife, then more chemo, she reached out to me on facebook to ask my advice. We messaged back and forth periodically over the next two years.
Several times in her messages she told me that the thought of doing more chemo didn’t make sense to her, but she was also “terrified not to do it”. She said that she and her husband wanted to talk to me.
I gave her my number and encouraged her to call me on three separate occasions to set up a time to get together, but she never did.
I understand why. She wanted to, and she didn’t want to.
Her doctors had instilled so much fear into her mind that she was unable to say no to them, to break free. They persuaded her to get more treatments, which took a huge toll on her body.
She passed away last week at 35. Her struggle was heartbreaking.
She was a true warrior and this post is dedicated to her.
I truly believe that if she had done what my friend Julia did, she would still be with us today.
Enter Julia Chiappetta.
Like many women, Julia was diagnosed with stage 2 infiltrating ductal carcinoma,
but her response to it was very different.

The healing properties of black seed (Nigella sativa) oil have been known for thousands of years. It has been used both orally and topically fight disease in many different practices of medicine through-out the ages. In our modern times its actions and efficacy is increasingly backed by solid scientific understanding and an evidence base.
The use of black seed oil to beautify and improve the skin condition is well established; in fact, the famed beauty of Cleopatra is believed to be in part due to her use of black seeds. The oil of the Nigella sativa is packed with valuable components like vitamins A, B, and C, calcium, potassium, magnesium, zinc and trace elements providing the necessary nutritive factors for skin recovery and repair. Black seed oil also has a number of useful pharmacological actions which make it a fantastic natural option for treating diseases of the skin.
Black Seed and Psoriasis
Psoriasis is skin condition in which scaly pink plaques appear over the body, these can be sore and itchy and can be a source of embarrassment. The condition is caused by an abnormal immune reaction in the body causing abnormal proliferation of the epidermal layer of skin.
Black seed oil is well recognized to regulate the body's immune cells (up regulating some and down regulating others), [i] it also enhances the body's ability to deal with abnormal cell proliferation. [ii]
Traditionally, black seeds have been applied externally for psoriatic skin to manage the general pain and patches of eruption. A recent lab based study examined the effect of nigella sativa seed extract on an animal model of psoriasis, they examined the histological (cellular level)  effects and found that Nigella sativa has anti-psoriatic activity and concluded that the external application is beneficial in the management of psoriasis.[iii]
Black Seed and Eczema
Eczema is a condition characterized by skin inflammation. Itchy, red, patches appear, which can weep and crust. It commonly affects around joints and the mainstay of treatment is with moisturizers and steroid creams. In severe cases systemic immunosuppression is needed.
Black seed oil has fantastic emollient properties, forming a non-greasy film and providing nutritive factors the skin needs. A clinical trial which compared the effects of Nigella sativa oil applied twice daily compared to a conventional steroid cream (Betamethasone) for hand eczema found both to be equally effective in reducing symptoms.[iv] The clear benefit of black seed oil over steroid use is its lack of side effects.
Fungal infections
In addition to fighting bacteria that causes acne, black seed oil also fights fungus. Black seed oil has proven anti-fungal effects against the common skin fungal infectious organisms (dermatophytes) which cause conditions like fungal nail infections, athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm. [v]
Acne
Acne is a multifactorial condition which commonly affects teenagers however can persist into adulthood. It can result in disfiguring scarring. A number of factors are thought to contribute to the disease including hormonal, dietary, localized skin inflammatory response and infections.
Black seed oil has several properties which can reduce the symptoms of acne including anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidative effects. The nutritive factors in the oil can also help in repair and regeneration of damaged skin. Black seed oil is also a natural anti-histamine ideal for treating for skin conditions related to allergy.

Black Seed and Skin Cancers
Cancer occurs when cells become abnormal and replicate in an uncontrolled way. The cells which make up the layers of skin are the most highly exposed in the body and hence skin cancer is one of the most common forms of human cancer. Globally, approximately one million new cases occur annually and this is increasing year on year. The two most common forms of skin cancer are basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma, in both of these prolonged ultraviolet light exposure is a risk major factor.
Nigella sativa has been proven to have a range of anti-cancer effects against many different abnormal cell types. [vi] Specific effects against skin cancer cells have been demonstrated.
Squamous cell carcinomas affect the epidermal layer of the skin; they can spread and invade surrounding tissues. Nigella sativa extract has been found to be effective against squamous cell carcinoma cells in vitro (using human skin cancer cells cultured cells in a lab), the study found that the active anti-cancer extract from black seeds (Thymoquinone) inhibits cell proliferation and induces apoptosis in squamous cell carcinoma. The authors conclude that Thymoquinone is a potential antineoplastic therapy in this common skin cancer.
Benefits of Black Seed Oil for Skin Complexion
The powerful anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory and nutritive properties of black seed oil can help to restore the natural health and vitality of skin. The oil can be taken orally or applied and massaged directly into the skin. The rich array of oils provides deep skin moisturization. Additionally vitamin A, amino acids and fatty acids work together to help skin regeneration.
It is difficult to fully describe the way black seed oil works in a single article; Nigella sativa is a truly magical plant with complex properties we are just beginning to understand.

April 22, 2014 Pele Report, Astrology Forecast

We’ve been told that we are separate, it’s either me or you,
There’s not enough for everyone, we’ll never make it through,
This mindset of division, has robbed me of my strength,
Its fostered fear and lack of trust, it’s time to give it back.
This Solar Eclipse in Taurus is the perfect time to break out of old survival patterns and patriarchal conditioning. One great way to break through separation is to ask for help! This is a great time to give others the opportunity to feel their power through giving and for all of us to come together in love. If everyone asked everyone for help just think of how much help there would be haha! Injoy the NEW……music by jeffoster.com

Healing Story of the Month: April 2014
Posted on Thursday, 17 April 2014

Donna is a Radical Remission survivor of Stage 4 cervical cancer. Diagnosed at age 61, Donna tried conventional medicine to its fullest (8 rounds of chemotherapy), but it wasn't working, and eventually her doctors told her there was nothing more they could do.  Today, she currently has no evidence of cancer.
Here is her story, in her own words:
I am an Art Instructor, and have my own Studio. I kept teaching, even when I had lost all my hair, etc. I find peace in painting, and in showing others that they also can paint. It warms my heart working with adults and children, showing them the magic in creating. I do believe this has helped me a lot...being positive, and around positive people, doing positive things.
I realized I really never had control over things to start with, all things are in Gods control. I just accept.  This is why I am here - by the grace of God. I have the attitude of gratitude. When I was almost dead, I had a dream of what was going to happen. It calmed me and made me know that God was with me, no matter what happened. My will to live was more of an acceptance that if God wanted me to live, it would happen, if not, then I would die. I was not afraid, I bowed to His will.
At first I tried to have a lot of control; they were trying different medications on me, different dosages, etc. and I needed to know exactly what and why...it drove my Doctors and family nuts...but at the time I needed to try and be in control. [Other things I did included:] Keeping busy, not thinking about being sick. Even in the hospital I tried to keep busy. The hospital let me bring in my paints, even set up a space where I could paint. Every day the staff, nurses, doctors and housekeepers etc would stop in to see what I had painted. It was very hard in the beginning because of being on so many drugs, I could not remember how..but I kept trying and pretty soon I was painting again. I think keeping busy, helping others, being positive all helps.
I was in the hospital 115 days before they sent me home to die. My husband never left my side, he slept in the room every night with me, he was there all day, every day. When I was the sickest, he crawled into bed with me to hold me. The support he gave me -- I never saw or heard of another getting. It was sooo calming to me to know that he was there. It still brings tears of gratitude to my eyes when I think of how he was with me. Besides that, I received so many bouquets of flowers I cannot even remember how many, but over 50, from family and friends. We had visitors at the hospital daily, even though we were in a hospital 300 miles away from our home. The support I got was wonderful.
Once at home, I prayed and had many others pray for me. I had a blessing like it says in the Bible...to gather the Elders and lay hands on and anoint with oil. I let go, surrendered and said, "Thy will be done", not mine...I was ready to die, in peace.

It has been 6 years since Donna was diagnosed with terminal, Stage 4 cervical cancer with metastases in her lungs, lymph, blood, and bone. Today she has no evidence of disease.
