Liveblog: Steve Jobs back at Apple

Liveblog: Steve Jobs back at Apple

We're here at the latest Apple press extravaganza, where the electronics maker is expected to roll out new products -- and perhaps CEO Steve Jobs, who until recently was out on medical leave. We'll live blog the action as it occurs.

A packed house is listening to "It's Only Rock and Roll" by the Rolling Stones. Seen in the audience: former Apple director and Google CEO Eric Schmidt, who resigned his post recently due to the ever increasing conflicts between Apple and Google's businesses.

And...it's Steve Jobs! He gets a standing ovation that's nearly five minutes long. He looks very thin from where we are sitting.

"I'm very happy to be here," he says. "As some of you may know, about five months ago I had a liver transplant. I now have the liver of a mid-20 (year-old) person who died in a car crash and was generous enough to donate their organs. I wouldn't be here without such generosity."
