Intravenous Vitamin C Saves NZ Man with Flu Damaged Lung

A 56 year old male was referred to Auckland Hospital ICU on 1 July 2009 with total respiratory failure, for ECMO external oxygenation. The patient had contracted H1N1 Swine flu (confirmed by tests) while on holiday overseas, and had developed what is known as ‘white out’ pneumonia. This refers to x-rays showing no air space in the lungs.

After 20 days of life-sustaining ECMO treatment and other critical care, the patient, who was unconscious by induced coma, had not responded. The ICU team advised the family of the likely outcome and had prepared them for the possibility of the patient’s death.
Family members approached Centre for Advanced Medicine Limited (CAM) for advice on the clinical use of intravenous vitamin C for such cases.

At the family’s request, information was provided to ICU doctors including ISO 9001:2008 registered protocols, safety data, dosages and access to vials of IV vitamin C under CAM’s license for wholesale medicines.

The ICU team agreed to administer intravenous vitamin C according to the family’s wishes. This decision acknowledged the family’s rights, in compliance with the New Zealand Health and Disability Act, 1997.

The patient received intravenous vitamin C starting on the evening of 21 July, continuing until 29 July. 25 grams was provided on the first day increasing over the first three days to 50 grams twice daily which was sustained for a further six days.

By 24 July x-rays indicated increasing lung function and ECMO external oxygenation was discontinued on 26 July. After several days of assisted ventilation and critical care for ongoing secondary conditions, the patient was able to commence his recovery and rehabilitation.

The patient was discharged from hospital on Friday 18 September, and is recovering at home on the farm.

The decision by the Auckland Hospital ICU team to administer adequate dosages of IV vitamin C, and their skillful coordination of ICU procedures, were responsible for the positive medical outcome.

Permission from the patient and his family has been sought by CAM to publish these details on its website and elsewhere in the interests of accuracy. This permission was willingly provided and CAM expresses its thanks, admiration and respect.

Not surprised a bit but I’m assuming that conventional allopathic remedies were discontinued prior to and during the Vit C drip for them to make the claim that the patient responded to the C and not the prior treatment.

And Linus Pauling told me he would take 16 grams daily when well and up to 110g/day when ill.

It is reassuring to know that there are intelligent professionals in this world who can look beyond the limitations of traditional medicine to the new and ever expanding research and results obtainable with nutrition and knowledge of the body and its true needs.

Sad to say, I don’t think this could have happened in America, where our physicians, for the most part, are totally invested in their block-headed know-best viewpoint of drugs and surgery.

Maybe this case will help enlighten them. One can only hope…..

Are there hospitals or medical centers that would provide such treatment in the U.S. upon request? Would viatamin C help against the flu virus if taken orally before the infection had spread to the lungs? And if so, what would be the recommended safe dosage.

I don’t have answer, but do have another question concerning this person who “contractied swine flu”. My daughter in-law, that was pregnant at the time, got the swine flu and she said that it wasn’t any different than any other flu. My question is I wondered if this man had received
the “vaccine” before going “overseas on holiday”. My husband “elected” to get the regulare flu vaccine several months ago and has had nothing but health issues ever since. Lots of lung issues, like severe allergic symptoms and asthma and now has been exposed to a co-worker that was so sick, so now he is very, very sick. He is coughing up red mucus and was running 103.6 fever last nigh. Today, it’s been 101.5 all day. His immune system is compromised, I think/believe it’s b/c of that “vaccine” he chose to get! I’m pissed!!

I found out about the wonders of Vitamin C when I had my throat close off while taking an IV drip of steroids for Multiple Sclerosis. After this happened I was at the end of what allopathic medicine had to treat me. I decided to go another route mixing eastern, allopathic, naturopathic and energy medicine together. Vitamin C and Vitamin D have become my mainstays. I use what many would consider mega doses and now make sure my vitamin c is done lypospheric or lyposomal vitamin c to bypass the digestive track. I am very pleased with the results.

I do wonder if any hospital system in the US would try drips of Vitamin C for different medical procedures. I would be in line no doubt. Thanks for the info.

I saw a video a while ago,in my chiropractor’s office, discussing IV mega doses of C for the treatment of cancer…does anyone know anything further (if it is true, how 7 where there are doctors/ healthecare practitioners, who offer this??? Until now I’ve been unable to track that info …..and not heard @ IV C mega dosing discussed.
