What I Will Do If ObamaCare Passes
Comments RulesBy Harold Witkov
I have done everything I could to help prevent ObamaCare. I have signed petitions, written letters to my representatives, and penned various articles for American Thinker. Still, I have a growing fear that ObamaCare might happen, so I decided that it would be wise to have a "Plan B" for myself just in case.As I see it, coverage for an additional thirty million Americans is going to mean an eventual shortage of doctors and care. Despite what President Obama, Harry Reid, and Nancy Pelosi tell us, ObamaCare is going to result in the rationing of health care. When that happens, I want... (Read Full Article)

I learned accupuncture Harold. It's a nice easy no trauma way to feel better. Suggest everyone look for a course in that and yes try some books. "Prescription Guide for Nutritional Healing" is great and updates every couple years. This obozocare will be awful. Shop for witch doctor and also a good loan shark. The money will be leaving the U.S. faster than geese leaving the south in the spring.

Here is my plan, and unlike this article, I'm dead serious. Since ObamaCare requires that all US residents purchase government-approved insurance or pay a tax penalty, I will immediately cancel my health insurance policy. Upon receiving written confirmation that my policy is canceled, I will forward that document, along with my contact information to the White House. If they want to come and get me, I'm their huckleberry. I have always said that I would make an outstanding political prisoner. Forcing people to purchase a service commodity or pay a penalty tax as a requisite for lawful residency in the United States is despicable. This is nothing less than a tax on HUMAN EXISTENCE. If your government can tax you because you exist, because you had the nerve to wake up breathing, then you are already a slave. I am a sovereign person, and by God I will remain sovereign, even if I have to go to prison to maintain my sovereignity.

This is funny but there is also some truth tucked in there. If this bill passes people will be forced to take care of themselves first before heading to the nearest clinic line to wait in. Natural medicines have been used for thousands of years. Learning how to use them is the key. Also, learning how to grow them as, at some point, the government will also regulate vitamins and minerals that we can buy. Also, keep plenty of vodka on hand in order to make tinctures. Or take a slug if all else fails. Just show extreme moderation as one day that too will be regulated.

Well, after Obamacare passes, I suppose we can all take a "Health Care Vacation" in Cuba. At least while you are suffering in a filthy bed with flies in your face, you can look out on the Malecon and remark a how lovely your last dieing moments are. Obamacare/Hitlercare/Castrocare they are all the same. Liberal Socialist nonsense. But then, both Obama and Hitler WERE VOTED INTO OFFICE. Maybe Obama misses the fact that he didn't storm the White House, AK-47's blazing, a phot of Che in his pocket, with his Chicago thugs and seize power as did his hero, Castro.

My only problem with this article is the author's assertions that he will be able to BUY alternative medicine books and publications. I'm not so sure that the Liberal Socialists won't do their utmost to ban such books etc. EBAY, being a total Liberal Socialist entity will not allow such things to be sold, if Obama and Chicago object.

Funny article.
...Our pets and their owners will one day have something in common which they never had before if ObamaCare passes: death panels.
But our pets' death panels will be better than ours as they're made up of those who have loved and cared for them along with their vets, and many times their vets love and care for them, too. Our death panel, otoh, will be made up of a bunch of govt bureaucrats who've never laid eyes on us, much less love us or care about us.

Harold, If you change you name to Rin Tin Tin you could buy doggie health insurance. When you get sick have your wife put a leash on you and take you to a vet. Maybe get a full body wig. Growl and bark when you get there and the vet will treat you out of fear.

Obamacare will be the supreme irony, at least for those living somewhat close to our southern border. At present the Canadians come south for healthcare and we benefit from the dollars they spend. With Obamacare we will now head south, reversing the trend on our southern border, and the Mexicans will benefit from the dollars we spend down there to doctors in private practice. I am betting that a lot of our doctors will move to northern Mexico and set up shop. The bribes they will have to pay to set up shop down there will be carefully orchestrated to be less than any penalties that will be assessed to them by our own government when these trained professionals choose to withhold their services to the state. (They will be regulated, especially if they got their degrees at public institutions. They will, therefore, 'owe' it to the public that made their education possible. [Especially if they are pediatricians. It's for the chillllllllllldrennnnnnn.])
Of course, the rise of Health Care Industry South will create new jobs when they construct huge medical facilities down there. Who knows, maybe all the illegals mowing our lawns and cleaning our offices will go home. The silver lining? At least they won't be voting for Democrats anymore. (Hmmmmm. On second thought, maybe they will be. Once on the voting roles, always on the roles. After all, the dead still get to vote.) But the loss of professionals and service industry workers might have a positive side. Besides irritating Andy Stern, the result of all this might very well be the closure of the southern border. Finally! Of course Obama will claim credit for stabilizing the flow of illegals north and use it as a reason to vote for him for a fifth term. (Yeah, I know, but they haven't paid very much attention to the Constitution yet. Why expect any changes?)
Take heart, though. I have family in Mexico and, for a ... (350 word limit)

There will be underground black market health enclaves where citizens will subvert this legislation and seek the care of "underground railroad" doctors and nurses for primary care and rehabilitative issues. Families, churches, healthcare providers and such will "pool" resources and care for each other in their homes. House calls will make a comeback and take on a whole new meaning.
Say it ain't so?

Very funny, I love the dog costume idea! However, if you buy Kevin Trudeau's Book, find it at the dollar store because that's all it's worth...the title is misleading. Hmmm, I wonder if Kevin is a democrat. I have some alternative thoughts like, where's Jim Jones when you need him? Or maybe we'll all die in within 4 years before this catastrophe kicks in? Or, maybe just maybe it won't pass? Let's pray.

I don't find anything amusing about the catastrophe that is about to befall us.
We must never succumb to slavery. If it means shaking this country to its very core or bringing it down, then so be it. It won't be the America we once loved but instead will be our mortal enemy.

IAmDagny.........This would be fine if you're not employed. Unlike the original Social Security, you can bet that this won't even start out being voluntary. It will most likely be deducted from your pay or even Social Insecurity.
It would be a great idea for all Patriots to revolt in the way that you suggest to thwart this thievery, but you can bet that these Devils have their "Steal from the slaves plan in place".

Got my own Plan B covered. Bought "The Barefoot Doctor's Manual", the official guide to traditional Chinese medicine and I also bought a herbal pharmacopia. Of course, since I live in Texas, I can always visit a doctor across the border in Mexico, so long as I keep a current passport.

One suspects there is a long, long list of alternatives. However, the first four should be what Dogbert of the Dilbert cartoons called the miracle drub Placebo. This, of course, includes all those homeopathic things that have 1 molecule in a trillion of some poison.

Your best bet is the vet. They can write prescription for most things like your blood pressure meds. Also, you can get copies of the tests and scans and then go a family reunion (doesn't make much difference which family it is since you'll be a "distant relative"), find a doctor and then hold them hostage with a hot dog stick until they give you curb-side diagnosis. Or try to get on House.

But seriously. Help me here, is this going to be Obummers Abe Lincoln moment? Some states have legislation for the option to opt out. Will we see some states excercising those options? Will there be a banding together and a splintering of the US?

And what happens when the buses show up to take away the anti-abortion people like myself? Right to life is a basic human and civil right. We definitely need a legitimate plan B.

What's next? How long until the socialists next decide everyone needs housing that is on par with median pricing in the local economy? Public project housing is just so demeaning! And how about a job? Everyone should be entitled to either a good paying job, or better yet, just send the paycheck! Make those evil large corporations forego their profit motive and take care of the workers! Shareholders be damned! Again, the adage that nations deserve the governments they elect has come true. We are dangerously close to the point where the hard working, want to get ahead portion of our population is becoming smaller than the entitlement mentality portion. So long America.

ALL evil slave masters and dictators have always employed death panels to get rid of the unenlightened or the human flesh that did not contribute to the state in a productive way.

If insurance costs are to be believed, then most people/employers are in effect paying around$10,000 a year for coverage. Imagine putting this amount into a tax-free medical spending account and taking control of your own care directly. People would only need catatrophic coverage at a muchly reduced rate. When you spend your own money, you might think twice about breast implants or hair plugs. I am 70 years old and believe this country, including my own daughters, overmedicate because it is "free." I really think we should cease and desist with what we call insurance mostly funded by employers (initially as a perk) and assume responsibility for our own care as we deem appropriate. I remember when no one had insurance. People saw doctors when necessary. My first visit was for a college physical and my last visit was over 35 years ago. People die or they get well; it is a natural law, only slowed (and in some cases speeded) by medical attention. Personally I believe in eating right, exercising regularly and living an honorable life. I have never used the Medicare to which I am supposedly entitled and I plan never to. If seems wrong to me for someone else to pay for something that benefits me. I am and always have been a "pay myself" for what I need and use sort of person. Life is fatal and I plan live each day as though it is my last, without benefit of medical entanglements. I would choose prison over being forced to pay for something I feel is morally wrong. Since I am old, it would be my last stand against Obamacare.

Yours is one of the most amusing entry that I have read anywhere in a long, long time; thanks for the levity. I especially like your Red Clifford strategy. Interesting analogy would be: if they tried to take over the health care decisions of pet owners over their dogs and cats and hamsters, etc., holy hell would break loose; major resistance.

Yes, a growing job category would be Christian Science practitioners, who would have more calls to involve God in the healing process. Also, we would be back to those snake oil salesmen in Westerns -- there would be all kinds of travelling positive-thinking gurus going from city to city, making a living ("cash only registration"). What about those dumb magnets that are supposed to invoke gravity on behalf of peoples' appendages. Then there is acupuncture -- some people swear by it -- invest in steel pin companies.

I'm surprised that doctors are not steaming mad. Do they not know how horrendous the quality of their lives will be as compared to the present? Clearly, the intention of the entire enterprise (as well as all Obama-based initiatives) is to ramp up consternation, stress, anger, viciousness, and envy. Anyone who cannot see the hatred behind his placid face, or who cannot deconstruct his gobledegook language and see the marxism underneath it, needs further education. Thanks again for your humor and wit. Like you, we all must maintain this ability to strategize in the face of egregious governmental foolishness.

Wilmon44, You ask about the "State Sovereignty" plans. That was made, "null and void" in 1965 Revenue Sharing laws, given to US by Lyndon Johnson. It is called "The Grant System".

If you doubt what I say, where ever you live, attend a LOCAL County, city Commission meeting. Listen to the all the State and Federal "GRANTS" that are pursued. Read about the State participation of the Education program, "CRUSH FROM THE TOP" (my name for this debacle), I believe it is called "Rush to the Top". In Tennessee, we held a "special legislative session" with all but two elected State Legislators voting for the "rules, regulations, and mandates" from the Federal level of this debacle!!!!!!

THE GRANT IS KING.

REPEAL 1965 Federal Revenue Sharing. It is the "teeth" that destroys Local and State governments. They either participate or they "suffer in the Grant System." It is "sickening".

I think Mr. Witkov missed the point here (although it was funny article), nobody will be allowed to have a plan B or plan C. We will be told that we gave up our FREEDOM to chose plan B or plan C in order to have the SECURITY of guaranteed health care.
Of course, as history has taught over and over again, when a people give up their freedoms for security they end up with neither.

Let's see now........ Cut down nutritional supplements. Grab 12,000,000 acres, call them "national monuments", limit resource gathering, and you can bet that means the ability to hunt. Call a mud puddle in my back yard a "navigable waterway". Don't allow me to fish where I have for years, but it's OK if Japan, China, Russia, Mexico fishes there. Cut off the water supply to thousands of acres for growing food, so a 2" smelt might live another week, to feed the fish the above countries are catching.... The tomato plant in my backyard is called a "food production facility"......... Grow corn for ethanol, don't worry about the "food" part. Ban salt, sugar, fats, smoking, drinking in bars (?)..... GPS in cars, for "statistical" purposes......can you say "milage tax"?

Health care.......I will HAVE to have it, or pay a tax....I don't pay a tax, they take my house. I don't have a house, I go to jail. Picture Little Abner, outside in the garden, standing next to the outhouse, living on witchdoctor concoctions for health care, fetchin' his water from the well, to take back to his log cabin. He's in line fer a visit from the revenuers.....Mao was good at this....

The last part just stepped over the line, for being Constitutional......Without LIBERTY and PERSONAL PROPERTY, the LIFE part becomes rather bland. I, like one poster above, see that if the Constitution becomes irrelevant to the ones in charge, then it, and their Laws, will also be irrelevent to the masses, of "We The People" it serves. When a Majority of the People, are not in favor of legislation, then they are justified in their actions to correct the problem. Such actions are left up to one's imagination.

When HillaryCare was the threat, my doctor father heard about rumors that a black market medical care system was being discussed. Doctors back in the 1990s were talking about rumors that a ship was going to be outfitted as a floating hospital and stationed just outside the International Limit. Apparently, patients were supposed to go to the ship, pay in cash or something, get their treatment, and return. The problem was figuring out how to get to the.... what would you call it? HealEasy? Saint NoName? I guess you would have to know someone.
I recently heard the Senate is considering banning supplements and vitamins. It would be very disturbing to see Uncle Sugar taking over medical care while banning all medical tools, books, supplements and vitamins, and holistic practices.
If this plan passes, you can bet we will have black market medicine and organized crime medicine. I would probably go to Puerto Rico for medical care or at look for the MafiaMedical Center near me. I sure wish I knew more doctors and surgeons. I would love to be the organizing power behind my own underground medical clinic. I bet you could rake in a fortune. Anyone want to explore the issue with me? Maybe we can become "legitimate" businessmen???

" If Obamacare is passed and the health care rationing begins, we can all at least take some solace in knowing that he has lost yet another voting block: the hypochondriacs of America."

Mr. Witkov, as one who lived many years in a country that has state-run health care, allow me to say that the above assumption is wrong. Socialized medicine targets exactly the hypochondriacs, because it is based mainly on prevention and diagnostics. Cures and treatments are not a priority, because the onus is now on the people's life style and its conformance with government regulation. I do not want to get into the topic of how the powers that be are trying to regulate human physiology, neither elaborate on the absurdity of such thoughts, nevermind measures.
The technological infrastructure for the shift towards state-run health care in this country is already in place, so from now on people will be lured into endless tests, and endless preventive medication of presumed risk factors. Real illnesses tretments will also be mainly procedural, not always patient taylored, and under-financed. How can a risk factor be treated when in fact it's only a mathematical expression and as such, a result of statistical manipulations to prove an intended outcome, an a priori conclusion, usually suggested by the pharmaceuticals which are financing the so-called medical research.

No joke. Health care for dogs is already better than that for humans in Canada. Reason: cash basis. Result: no lines or waits. Problem: If you are a stray, no health care. Next item: public housing is too "demeaning". Solution: much higher taxes on producers, to pay for moochers. Result: no producers, no tax income to government. Ultimate result: no country (takes a while, that's what the leftists are counting on). Simple. See: "Atlas Shrugged".

I have my own plan if Obamacare passes. I will run for Congress as a conservative, get elected, and then vote completely as a flaming liberal. You see, it won't matter, because then I will have my own special congressional health care, not Obamacare, and I will have my own special congressional retirement plan after only two years. And when I leave office, I can get appointed as a director with ACORN or the ACLU, or maybe even Ambassador to the UN, where I can help Obama run the world, or better yet as a public system bus driver member of the SEIU and get paid huge amounts of money and then get a full retirement at age 50 worth over 2 million dollars. And Obama will be re-elected of course, since he will create some other crisis and suspend the constitution completely. There won't even be a vote next time. He will be "deemed" as President-God. or is that God-President?

Anyway. That is my plan B. Some are more equal than others and I plan to be one of those who is "more" equal.

IAmDagny got it right: "Forcing people to purchase a service commodity or pay a penalty tax as a requisite for lawful residency in the United States is despicable. This is nothing less than a tax on HUMAN EXISTENCE."

Codex Alimentarius; the total regulatory control of all supliments, vitamins, homeopathic cures, and any edible additives whether they be natural or man-made. Senator McCain just tried to pass legislation, called the Dietary Supplement Safety Act (S3002), that would harmonize this country with Codex Alimentarius.

The United Nations Law of the Sea Treaty (LOST); the total regulatory control of all bodies of water such as oceans, seas, rivers, lakes, ponds, swamps, ...etc. Now officials at the Council on Environmental Quality and the anti-hunting, anti-fishing organizations on this task force for a federal strategy could prohibit U.S. citizens from fishing.

"...whenever the Legislators endeavour to take away, and destroy the Property of the People, or to reduce them to Slavery under Arbitrary Power, they put themselves into a state of War with the People, who are thereupon absolved from any farther Obedience..."
–John Locke (1632-1704)

Tea Party is what I'll do until this travesty is totally reversed and undone.
