An Apple a Day Keeps the Doctor Away
In a study of healthy, middle-age adults, consuming an apple a day
for four weeks lowered blood levels of a probable contributor to atherosclerosis, or hardening of the arteries, by 40 percent. The study found that the apples lowered blood levels of oxidized low-density lipoprotein, or LDL, the so-called "bad" cholesterol, according to lead researcher Robert DiSilvestro, a professor in Ohio State's Department of Human Nutrition and scientist with the university's Ohio Agricultural Research and Development Center. The center is the research arm of the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences.

Another study showing the medical benefits of apples. Apples are a large part of the Eisenstein HCG protocol. I take and recommend at least one apple ever day.
